While it's tempting to embrace every trendy detail, focus on timeless design elements with classic appeal. Choose neutral palettes and high-quality materials that won't look dated in a few years. "Going cheap" is a costly remodel mistake to avoid. If the funds are not currently available, it's better to save and plan ahead than regret decisions later.

Indecision can derail your project. Set deadlines for choosing materials, finishes, and fixtures. Gather inspiration online and in magazines, but ultimately choose what works for your home and lifestyle.
